Easter Party at Suzzette's

Last year we had an Easter party with our "Mommies Group"
at Suzzette's...We went again this year!
It is crazy to look back and reflect on last years blog and
see how much Ethan and some of his friends have grown...
One year makes a big difference...
Not only is Ethan now a big brother but he is...
Walking, talking, communicating
and interacting with the other children.

Devyn just loved Toddy...He was all smiles with him on his lap...
When I covered Todd up to feed him...Devyn was not happy!
 A few tears fell...Poor Devyn!

Claire and Devyn!
We had a good time with our friends...
We had a little Easter egg hunt in the back yard...
Ethan wasn't too sure about it at first but caught on!
Starting our Easter Egg Hunt!

Todd is 3 months old

I just love my chubby little man...
I feel like the luckiest girl ever to have such amazing children!
Some things I would like to remember about my little guy at 3 months old!
-Todd makes very funny faces...
The best is when he smiles when he is sleeping.
Todd is a wiggle worm...He is constantly moving when he is awake!
Todd loves to be held...
He hates his car seat and car rides...
(probably because he is not being held)...
Todd will take a "soo soo"...It tends to comfort him when I can't hold him!
Todd has a funny bone when I tickle his side...He will full out laugh!
Maybe the cutest thing ever!
I absolutely love his chubby cheeks and thighs...
I love to put my face and lips on his cheeks and kiss him over and over again...
Todds skin is so soft, pure and beautiful.
I love Todd's smell!
Like Ethan and his dad...Todd is a little furnace and keeps his mom warm!
Todd can sit for short periods of time in his bumbo chair and exerciser!
Todd likes his baby swing in the evenings when he is sleepy.
Todd likes it when mommy carries him in the baby sling!
Todd loves getting kisses from his big brother.
Todd is a very solid, strong baby.
So thankful for you Todd...
I love my boys and feel so blessed!

Another Year Older!

On April 2nd I turned 32!
I can't believe that I am 32 years old...I still feel like I am 18!
Well sort of...I guess being a mom makes me feel a bit older now!
What is really weird is that I can remember when my parents were this age...

Hands down I felt very loved and spoiled this year for my birthday...
It is so nice to have such amazing family and friends!
My birthday stretched out a good week before the date...
My brother Joe started it off by sending a package in the mail
with a beautiful card and a sweet running shirt...Love it!
Then on Friday my sister and Greg took me and the boys out for dinner...
On Saturday Nathan took me out on a date...
Complete with dinner and a movie (We saw The Hunger Games)...
(It was actually a double date with Shayna and Greg)...
We had a really good time!
Dates are fewer and further apart these days so
I really appreciate when we get the chance to go out...
Thanks mom for babysitting!

On Sunday my parents had a birthday dinner with cake...
And on Monday (my actual birthday) I had a few surprise visits...
"Thanks for the flowers, chocolates and cards family and friends!"
Love you all!

Might I add that my fashion savvy husband surprised me with a
gorgeous outfit...Complete with capris, blouse, shirt and scarf!
That's right my man can shop and get it right!
Love the green, brown and pink colors honey!

Mom made my Birthday Cake...
Using Reeses cups to spell my name!
Your so creative mom! (haha)

Church Gym!

This past winter Nathan and I periodically
would bring Ethan to the church gym for some playtime...
It is pretty sweet to have a big area to run and play in...
especially when you have a toddler and a newborn...
The cold, wet outdoors sometimes can limit this type of play...
Last week some of my mommy friends joined us for some play in the gym...
It is pretty sweet to have a safe wide open space for the kids to "free range"...
with fun things to play with like balls, toys and cars!
It is crazy to see how quickly our little guys are growing...
Last year at this time they were just babies...
Now they are interacting with each other...
Running, talking and throwing pretty impressive tantrums (haha)!
Without a doubt we have been blessed with very special boys!
They are so fun to watch and observe!
Three of us moms in attendance (Diana, Ola and I)
have recently had a second child all with in a few weeks of each other...
It is pretty neat going through this mothering thing together...
So nice to have chats with other moms who can really relate!
So next rainy day you will probably find us back at the church gym!
Come join us if you want!

So cute!

Every little boy needs a train set!

Yesterday we surprised Ethan with a "Thomas the Train" train set!
He was one excited toddler and was
mesmerized the moment he laid eyes on it!

We bought the set off of a neighbour who only had one child
so it was in excellent condition and as a bonus it
came with a lot of accessories and tracks!

I couldn’t be happier with the set, and I think it will be a favourite for our boys.
It was a hit for Nathan as well…
There is a good chance I may find him building tracks in the evening…
“Sure Hun…Your building this track for Ethan eh” (haha)!

Prior to picking the train set up our plan was to store it downstairs for a bit
until Ethan got a little older…However…
we changed our minds when we saw how happy Ethan was with his new toy.
He was playing so well...making chugga…chugga...toot-toot sounds and all.
So after some rearranging in Ethan’s future big boy room…
The train set has a new home…

I took some pictures of Nathan and Ethan building a track…
It was quite the Kodak moment!

Little Toddy!

It is hard to believe that our little Toddy is already 12 weeks old!
Todd fit into our family right away and now it is hard to
even imagine what life was like before he was born.
Ethan and Todd are already best buds...
Ethan's face lights up when he looks at Todd!
He loves to hug his little brother and
plant big wet kisses on his face!
We are still working with Ethan to be "very gentle"...
We practice the "gentle touch" on a regular basis...
He is catching on finally I think!
We are excited that they have each other...
They are going to have a fun life together!

A few random thoughts about our little man...

-Todd is a good little eater...
He caught onto the whole breast feeding thing right away
He eats all the time!

Which leads to my next comment...

-Todd has filled out very nicely.
He defiantly has that cute "chubbiness" look to him...
I absolutely love it!
He has developed a couple of chins and
plenty of rolls in the thighs!
(Most babies loose weight in the first week...
Not Todd...He gained weight...
and by 2 weeks had put on almost 2 lbs!

-Todd likes to be held...He cries quite intensely if I put him down at all.
He seems to demand more attention then Ethan did at his age.
Even though it is sometimes tough to always hold him,
Like when I find myself holding Todd while taking a pee (haha)
Just to prevent his cry from waking up Ethan...
(Yup I can't even sit on the royal throne in peace!)
The upside is that it warms my heart to know
that Todd is most happy in my arms...
I know how quickly my baby will grow so I am trying to stay
positive and enjoy holding my little guy even if it is all day and night...
I have to say I am learning creative ways to get things done while holding a baby...
Thank my lucky stars for baby carriers and
a husband who is willing to massage my shoulders and back daily!!!!

-Todd is a strong little guy and at 2 months of age
is able to hold his head up quite well...
He loves to smile and coo and is a little furnace when we cuddle!

-At the beginning Todd defiantly gave me a run for my money at night...
Between being up with him most of the night and
having to wake up at 7am with Ethan...I was one tired mom!
However I am happy to report that as of the past two weeks
Todd is finally letting me get sleep at night!
Waking only to feed then settling back into a slumber...
Prior to this I felt like it had been one long day since I gave birth...
I was sleep deprived and exhausted to say the least!
Now that I am getting sleep I feel alive and excited
and our days are filled with way more activities and play...
Being a rested mom is awesome!

Todd sleeps in my bed at night which I am much more comfortable doing
as I slept with Ethan until he was about 9 months old...
It allows me and Todd to sleep so much better and
I really treasure this special bonding time...
It is an amazing feeling to hug my baby all night long!

Dear Todd,
We want you to know that you are perfect in every way.
You are so special to us and we (your mommy and daddy) love you so much!
We promise to try our best to teach, support, guide and nurture you in this life!
We want you to know that YOU have added an abundance of pure joy
into our family...We feel so blessed to have you as our son!
When we look at you we see a little angel...
Your light and goodness shines!
You are a beautiful gift and we are so honoured to be your parents.
We are so happy that you are Ethan's little brother!
You two are lucky to have each other!
Our wish is that you and Ethan will be best friends...
Always have each other's backs!
Our hearts are so filled with love when we see Ethan hug and kiss you...
He already loves you, and I can tell that he knows you are special...
Remember that you are loved and appreciated!
We are excited to experience this life with you!

With Love,
 Mommy and Daddy!

The Great Outdoors

It is so nice to have such beautiful weather...
Our days are now full of outdoor play...
Lots of walks, trips to the park and fun on the court!
The other day I met up with Ola and her children for a walk to the park...
While there Ethan discovered a huge puddle and ran through it...
Soaking his feet...Then he sat in it...soaking his body!
Ola's son Noah followed suit!
So instead of ending there fun and freaking out
we smiled as we let them play...
Boys will be boys I guess!
I could see the judging looks of other parents at the park...
But I didn't care!
We had more fun then there kids (haha)
For the walk home I stripped Ethan down to his diaper and T-shirt
and wrapped him in a blanket! It worked just fine!
(I wish I had my camera to capture the moment)

Some picture over the last few days below!

Going for a walk!

I love my double stroller!

These pictures are from today...
I think Ethan looks so cute in his little hat

Todd wouldn't let me put him down at all today without crying...
Thank goodness for baby carriers!

I have to watch this little guy when there are little puddles at the side of the road
because he likes to copy the dogs and drink from them...So gross!

Such a little boy...He keeps me on my toes!

Happy Birthday to my sister Shayna today!
